2010's PROTOTYPE Providence PFX-7 Valve TUBE like Pre-Amp Overdrive/Distortion (MADE IN JAPAN) Variable Gain Stage Drive (Like BK Butler Tube Driver)
Sold out€0.00
exceptionally rare Providence PFX-7 Valve Pre-Amp Overdrive Prototype, handmade in Japan by Providence / Pacifix Ltd. While the production PFX-7 is already seldom seen outside Japan, prototype and development-stage examples are virtually unheard of.
This unit displays several early features, including a circuit board marked "C2", an alternative enclosure layout, no enclosure labeling, and the absence of the later Fat switch. These details strongly suggest an early development stage of the PFX-7 platform.
Part of Providence's boutique PFX Series alongside the renowned Delay 80/82 and original Anadime Chorus, the PFX-7 was designed around a unique amplifier-inspired architecture with separate Gain, Volume and Master controls. The interactive Volume and Master controls function similarly to a tube amp's preamp and master volume sections, allowing for a wide range of clipping characteristics, from edge-of-breakup tones to rich overdrive and near-distortion saturation.
Fully functional.
