The ESP Mighty Vise is an extremely rare FRT-3-style tremolo appearing only in the 1983 ESP Export Catalog
Designed as an easy-to-install, drop-in locking tremolo upgrade for Tune-o-Matic stoptail guitars, it uses a conversion plate for the existing bushings.

The Mighty Vise is unique for placing six fine tuners in the locking nut alongside three locking clamps.
Its FRT-3 characteristics have led to the theory that it may relate to an experimental Floyd Rose design predating the FRT-4V.
Eddie Van Halen is also part of the story: his live experience in the early 80's helped inspire fine tuners in early Floyd Rose designs.
