A rare and fully original 1974 Greco / Maxon “Excel” Stratocaster loaded pickguard, featuring a matched set of vintage single coil pickups (#14924). This is a factory pre-wired assembly, preserved in original condition with pots, switch, jack (currently disconnected), wiring, grounding, and hardware intact.

These pickups come from the early Japanese reverse engineering era, where Maxon studied highly regarded 1962–1964 Stratocaster pickups and translated their tonal response into consistent production designs, focusing on dynamics, clarity, and feel.

Pickup outputs: Neck 4.88 kΩ, Middle 4.84 kΩ, Bridge 4.70 kΩ — a vintage-correct, low-output range offering excellent headroom, touch sensitivity, and articulation.

Expect open cleans, smooth highs, full mids, and natural compression when pushed.

Includes the original neck heel truss rod access cut-out with removable plate, allowing adjustment without neck removal.
